From Pouring Rain to Brilliant Sunshine!
It’s often said that rain on your wedding day is good luck, and if the magnificent union of Alex and Ted is any indication, they are in for a lifetime of joy and happiness. Their wedding at the enchanting Appleford Estate in Villanova, PA, was nothing short of a fairy tale, and we at 7Blooms were thrilled to play a part in their magical day.
The morning of the wedding began with a massive rainstorm. With raindrops pounding and thunder and lightening in the sky, it seemed that Alex and Ted’s dream of a garden wedding would have to be shelved. The very idea of moving their garden ceremony under a tent hung heavily in the air, a reminder of how unpredictable nature can be as well as a reminder that a good florist, venue, and planner should always have a “rain plan”.
However, as we arrived at Appleford Estate to begin setup the rain stopped but the clouds were still hanging around suggesting that maybe there was more rain to come. We all discussed and debated whether we should take the chance of setting up the ceremony structure outside, but almost in an instant, the dark clouds were replaced with sunrays peaking through. This was our chance … lets go for the outside setup! As we finished the structure, the sun was litterally glowing on the beautiful grounds and the flowers were basking in the glow.
Alex’s choice of a color palette in shades of pink perfectly complemented the natural beauty of Appleford Estate. As her florist, we were given the delightful task of bringing her vision to life. The primary floral components of the wedding were nothing short of spectacular:
Garden Roses: Symbolizing love and passion, these roses were the epitome of romance. Their full blooms and soft pink hues added depth and volume to the arrangements.
Ranunculus: Known for their delicate petals and charming elegance, they added a touch of whimsy to the bouquets and centerpieces.
Peonies: The bride’s favorite, peonies were a star of the show. Their lush, billowy blooms and intoxicating scent painted a picture of springtime romance.
Sweet Peas: Dainty and fragrant, sweet peas provided a delicate touch, weaving seamlessly between the bolder flowers.
Every detail was carefully considered and expertly executed. From the sweet bridal bouquet that Alex held, to the finely crafted centerpieces adorning the reception tables, the flowers played a pivotal role in setting the mood for the entire celebration. In the end, their wedding wasn’t just a joining of two beautiful humans; it was a testament to the fact that even when things don’t go according to plan, love always finds a way.

Additionally, we must commend the outstanding photography by Bailey Pianalto. Bailey’s knack for capturing intimate details, cherished moments, and the special touches that make a wedding uniquely personal was evident throughout the day. Even though she’s based in the Midwest, her incredible talent transcends borders, serving couples not only nationally but also internationally. It was a joy collaborating with such a professional, and these photos are a testament to her classic and timeless style. Alex and Ted’s memories have been beautifully immortalized, thanks to her exceptional work!
